12 Photos in 12 Months: Watch Your Child and Nature Change

In just ten minutes, you and your child can build a very slow time-lapse.

Take a picture of your child in nature in the same place on the first day of every month.

Choose an easy place outside of your house to take a photo that allows you to see both your child and the natural world around him or her, such as on the balcony or in front of the bushes in your front yard. Set a calendar reminder to help you remember to take the monthly picture. Put each photo in an album in your camera roll labeled, “12 Photos of [name of your child]. After the 12th photo is taken, look through the photos together. Talk about how your child has changed, about the different clothes for the different seasons, and how the plants and trees change throughout the year.
