In just ten minutes, you and your child can play “Simon Says.”
Play a simple game of “Simon Says.” The objective is to only follow directions that begin with the statement, “Simon says” such as “Simon says, ‘Clap your hands.’” After your child claps her hands, give another simple direction starting with, “Simon says . . .” After a few successful rounds, omit saying, “Simon says” and just give the direction. The goal is for your child to NOT follow the direction because “Simon” didn’t say to follow the direction. This can be a fun game to play when waiting in a line at the grocery store, sitting in a waiting room at the doctor’s office, or to engage with grandparents during a visit.
