In just ten minutes, your child and their grandparent can play a delicious candy sorting game.
You will need a muffin tin and assorted bags of M&M, Skittle, and/or other small and colorful candies. Group all the candies by color in the individual cups of the muffin tin. Next, ask your grandchild to count out a specific number of candies, touching each candy as they count. This skill is called one-to-one correspondence and is a great math skill, along with great practice in sorting. Add pattern fun as well! Place a pattern of five candies on the table in front of you. Ask your grandchild to make the same pattern with their candies. It is fun playing a candy game grandmother or grandfather!
