Go on a 10-Minute Nature Treasure Hunt with Your Child

In just ten minutes, you and your child can go on a treasure hunt.

Find a small basket or grocery bag and head outside. Look for “treasures” in nature that you can collect and take home with you – a blade of grass, a leaf that fell from a tree, a piece of bark, a pinecone, the pedal fallen from a flower. Place all the treasures on a piece of paper and describe how each item is similar (“The grass and the leaf are both green.”) or different (“The grass is smooth and the pinecone is rough.”).
