10-Minute Bubble Fun: Turn Handwashing into Playtime

In just ten minutes, you and your child can blow bubbles with soap.

When you wash your child’s hands, take a few extra minutes and lather up your hands with a lot of soap. Make a tight fist with one hand, then slowly relax your fingers until the tip of your pointer touches the tip of your thumb, forming a circle.

Gentle blow on the soap film to create a bubble. Use words like, “big,” “little,” and “pop” to describe the bubbles. When a bubble pops, say, “Oh no!” Encourage your child to ask for another bubble by saying, “More” or “More bubbles” or “More tiny bubbles” or “I want more bubbles!” depending on the language level of your child.
