In just ten minutes, you and your child can turn empty spice containers into musical shakers.
Grab those plastic spice jars and put a small potion of rice, beans, or small pebbles inside. Glue them permanently shut with Super Glue. Each shaker makes a different sound! Shake them and ask your child: “Which one sounds soft? Which one sounds louder?” “What words can we think of to describe the sounds we hear?” Experiment with rhythms or count your shakes to the beat!
