In just ten minutes, you and your child can create a “Question of the Day Jar.” Grab an empty plastic jar, cup, or small box and turn it into your family’s Question of the Day Jar.
Cut a few sheets of paper into slips and write simple, conversation‑starting questions on each one. These can be fun (“What’s your favorite animal?”), thoughtful (“What makes you feel brave?”), or silly (“If you could have any superpower, what would it be?”).
Place all the slips into the jar. Each day, maybe at breakfast or bedtime, invite your child to pull out one question. Read it together and take turns answering. Encourage your child to explain their thinking by asking follow‑up prompts like “Why do you think that?” or “Tell me more.” This simple routine builds conversation skills, strengthens reasoning, and gives you both a sweet moment of connection.
