Mirror Play Magic: A 10-Minute Face-Making Game for Kids

activities for kids

In just ten minutes, you and your child can play with making faces with a mirror.

Head into the bathroom and position your child in a way that she can see her face and your face in the bathroom mirror. Take turns making and copying facial expressions with each other in the mirror. Try making silly facial expressions as well as facial expressions that hold emotion, such as happy, surprised, and sleepy. Play around with moving only one part of your face, like just your eyebrows or just your mouth. This is a great way of practicing imitation skills and introducing emotional literacy all while building social connection.
