In just ten minutes, you and your child can create a rhyming basket. Walk through your house and identify three or four pairs of rhyming objects.
Some examples: cat/mat, can/pan, log/dog. Put the objects in a basket and sit down with your child. Pull out a rhyming pair, say the names of the objects, and lay them on the table. Repeat the process with the other pairs. Then put all the objects into the basket and see if your child can pull out the rhyming pairs. Make it easier by starting with only one pair. Make it harder by putting the two rhyming words into a silly sentence.
